Qualcomm is the Reason for 5G enabled iPhones, and it won’t change till 2024

Apple still does not have its own 5G modem for its devices, and it will stay the same till the next two upcoming generations of iPhones.

The very old Tech Giant is still making its own 5G modems, which is still many miles away. Currently, the iPhone 14 series is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X65 modem for 5G connectivity.

Although the tech giant has invested a hefty amount for its own 5G baseband, Jeff Pu (analyst) believes that Apple will be dependent on Qualcomm for its next two generations of iPhone 5G basebands.

Also, iPhone series 15 and 16 will reportedly use the Qualcomm X70 and X75 modems for 5G connectivity. Modem X70 and X75 will be a huge win over the X65, thanks to the 60% increase in battery efficiency over the X65 modem.
