Pete Lau, OnePlus CEO confirms that the OnePlus 9R budget 5G device is official. He further added that this device would be the 3rd entry in the OnePlus 9 Line-up. Other than these, the device will exclusively be for India, it could be a better version of the Nord. The OnePlus 9 series is going official on March 23, but we aren’t sure about the 9R’s launch yet!

In an interview with News 18, Lau said – “With the OnePlus 9R, we are looking to go even further to bring out a balanced handset with the latest technology and class-leading industrial design that can deliver a superior user experience overall and can also offer fast and smooth experiences for daily usage and heavy gameplay.”
This statement is confusing, as it’s a budget 5G device, while the statement mentions “heavy gameplay”. The 9R will be a successor to the OnePlus Nord. There’s no information about the processor, but you can expect something between the Snapdragon 888 and Snapdragon 765G.
