iQOO 8 series with Snapdragon 888+, 120hz display announced

VIVO‘s sub-brand iQOO just announced their latest iQOO 8 smartphone series in China recently, the 8 series has a base version and a Pro version just like other common smartphone brands. Not to forget, these beauties are equipped with the best and latest hardware and components at present. However, the 8 series still shares some similarities like the former orange-colored button with its predecessor, iQOO 7.

Specifications

The iQOO 8 base variant comes with a 6.56-inch FHD+ flat display, that’s said to be able to display up to 1000 colors. It also comes with a 120hz refresh rate display and a maximum brightness of 1200 nits. This device is said to be able to upscale the SD content to HDR, also it has an independent display chip that can maintain stable FPS while lowering power consumption. Both the devices have rear cameras arranged as L.

On the other hand, the Pro variant packs a 6.78 inch 120hz Samsung E5 curved AMOLED display which comes with 3200 x 1440 resolution, and just like the base variant, the Pro variant also comes with an independent display chip. The base variant comes with a triple rear camera setup, which consists of a 48MP Sony gimbal camera, along with a 13MP 120° ultrawide angle sensor and a 13MP portrait camera. On the front, it features a 16MP camera for selfies.

The Pro version also packs a triple rear camera setup, it has a 50MP Sony camera with a 48MP 114° ultrawide angle camera with a 16MP telephoto camera. On the front, it has a 16MP sensor for selfies. Both the devices have a centered punch-hole front camera. Out of the box, both devices will run on Origin OS, which is VIVO’s very own custom-made OS.

Under the hood, the device packs a Snapdragon 888+ 5G chipset, that’s coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. On the other hand, the Pro variant packs up to 512GB of internal storage. The iQOO 8 Pro is powered by a 4500mAh battery, it also supports 50W fast wireless charging, with 10W reverse wireless charging. On the other hand, the base model also packs a 4500mAh battery, which doesn’t support wireless charging. Both the variants support up to 120W wired fast charging which can fully charge the device in only 18 minutes.
