High refresh rate displays have become a common feature in High-end devices nowadays, so common that even many mid-end devices such as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro, and many others started featuring high refresh rate displays. Long gone are the days when high refresh rate panels were only available in gaming smartphones. But, what do you actually use your high refresh rate panel for?

High refresh rate displays bring another horizon to smartphone gaming for sure, but on the cost of power. And just as you’d expect, yes, high refresh rate panels do require more power than traditional 60Hz display panels. Some devices also feature dynamic refresh rates, which can automatically adjust your refresh rate based on the application.
However, you can always turn off the High refresh rate feature if you aren’t using it. This will boost your overall battery life, but you won’t be able to experience super smooth scrolling until you turn on the high refresh rate feature.
