Get more battery backup out of your Android device

Battery backup is one of the most important features in an Android device these days, that’s the reason every second device comes with at least a 4000mAh battery. What’s the point of having a Flagship chip if it can’t even run a full day after a full charge? Keeping everything aside, your phone’s battery backup mostly depends on your usage of course, but there’s always a way to save a little amount of power. This short guide will help you in achieving better battery backup overall.

Here’s how you can get a better battery backup out of your Android device

Keep fewer apps open in recent apps: The more applications are open in the recent apps menu, the more Power the device will consume. If you keep only the necessary applications open in the RAM, it can save a decent amount of power/battery. This makes sure that there are fewer applications running in the background, which ensures lower RAM usage, hence more power is conserved.

Avoid overcharging your device: Leaving your device connected to a power cord overnight could be really dangerous, it boosts the battery wear and tear. When a device is 100% charged, unplug it from the charger as it could lead to overcharge, which gradually shortens battery life.

Always use the recommended charger to charge your device: Avoid charging your device with third-party chargers. Some chargers might have high or low power output depending on the particular device, charging with low power chargers can slow down charging while fast chargers can potentially damage your battery. Always use the recommended charger to charge your device.

WiFi connections consume less power rather than 4G,5G connections: With that being said, if you have a WiFi connection at your place, turn off mobile data when the phone is connected to a WiFi network. This would save you quite an amount of power. Turning off mobile data when not needed can drastically save power. You can turn off mobile data while you’re asleep, this can result in low battery drain overnight. This often prevents excess battery drain that mostly happens because of third-party applications.

Turn off adaptive brightness: Adaptive brightness automatically adjusts your screen brightness depending on the light present in the environment, so that you don’t have to manually adjust the brightness. This setting doesn’t work that well as how it is described, it’s often slow in changing brightness. You can turn it off to save little power.

Always keep your device updated: Some applications tend to consume more power when they aren’t optimized, that’s one of the many reasons why android apps get updates so often. The updates often contain optimization patches, features, etc, which ensures a stable runtime of the applications.

Turn off Vibrations: This is very obvious, the vibration motor uses power to run, turning it off or switching your phone to silent mode will give you more screen time.

Keep Bluetooth and WIFI turned off when not in use: WiFi and Bluetooth scan for devices nearby when they are turned on, the scan is performed in intervals of time. You can keep these features turned off when not in use for better battery backup.
