A Developer from XDA named luca020400 noticed that Google is focusing on the Android ART or Android Run-time, that means the ART is Google’s mainline project at present. In short, you can apply android updates right from the Google Play store. Traditionally Android updates are processed through the android updater, that’s found in android settings, something like the picture below.

Android updates are important to many users, but now you don’t have to wait for weeks or months for android updates. According to XDA, If Google makes ART behave the same way on all Android devices, then it can be more consistent with app updates. But it also has some problems of its own, such as, it can force device makers to compromise with some of the customization they’re used to.

This could make it more easier to deliver OS updates, right from the Android Play Store. This would result in a more consistent behavior across smartphones. The feature will change a lot of things in smartphones, resulting in a more stable system, with regular updates, more compatible apps & less system slowdown as it will be easier to provide android updates, especially updates regarding bug-fixes and performance of the device.

Better Theming options

According to a new report by 9to5Goggle, unlike android 11, here users can have many options regarding the theming of the UI. In previous versions of android, users had just two options to select, that’s either light or dark mode for color customization/theming. Android 12 is said to have more color options, other than that the apps that support theming are also likely to respond to the change. Android 12 can automatically detect the primary colors of the system wallpaper and accordingly theme the system based on it.

Nearby Share

Soon you might just need to scan a QR code, in order to connect to Wireless Lan/Wi-Fi network. We assume you’ve heard of nearby share, according to XDA, Google might soon allow users to just scan a QR code to get connected to wireless networks.

App storage management

App hibernation in Android 12 could facilitate the storage management to an extent, not everyone clears app data, also there are many un-used or low priority apps that we don’t feel like removing, app hibernation can clear an app’s cache if the device recognizes it as hibernating. This would help empty space on your phone, without making you regret the removal of important apps.

Better Multitasking

The company is said to be working on a new feature, that would be something similar to Samsung’s app pair feature, this feature will allow users to open and run two apps in Android’s recent menu. Basically, you can open two apps on one screen and use them simultaneously, this would vastly help devices with foldable screen or dual screen.
